Garry Tonon Is finally coming home to jiu-jitsu ...
After spending the last several years competing in MMA, Garry Tonon is finally returning to the sport that made him a star.
Polaris announced a few weeks ago that Tonon will make his long-awaited return to submission grappling, taking his first jiu-jitsu superfight in nearly six years against Sam McNally. And this isn't just any comeback. It's a rematch years in the making.

The two first met in the opening round of the 2022 ADCC World Championships, where McNally pulled off the biggest victory of his career with a points win over Tonon. Now, four years later, the two will meet again on the Polaris mats, giving Tonon the opportunity to settle old business and remind the grappling world what made him one of its most exciting competitors.

Before becoming a fixture in MMA, Tonon built his reputation as one of the most dangerous and unpredictable submission artists in the sport. Known as the “Lion Killer,” he became synonymous with relentless aggression, creative attacks, and an absolute refusal to play it safe.
Polaris was a major part of that rise, providing the stage for some of Tonon's most memorable performances.
Now, he's back where it all began. After years away from the grappling spotlight, the Lion Killer is returning to his roots—and fans finally get to see him hunt for submissions again.
