‘Ice Cream’ Kron’s first sponsor wasn’t a gi company, but in fact were skate shops when he was a teenager. While Gracie is a life-long jiu-jitsu practitioner, at one point he seriously considered going all-in on skateboarding.
Kron says that he enjoys cruising on Sundays as a way to escape and let off some steam after a hard week of training for his burgeoning MMA career. he admits he needs to be careful, though; he had broken both of his ankles by the age of 12 while skating, and once hurt his wrist before a big tournament while skating the bowl at Venice Beach.
Kron even built a mini-ramp outside his gym so he can skate whenever he feels like it.
