Kaynan Duarte and Matheus Diniz are set to headline the massive ‘Road To ADCC’ card set to go down July 17 in Austin, TX.

The show is to run under ADCC rules, and pits some of the most accomplished grapplers on the planet against one another in a format that’s rarely seen.  While all the matches are all compelling in their own ways, perhaps none is more intriguing than the meeting of these two reigning ADCC champions.

Styles Make Fights, But Rules Define The Battlefield

Make no mistake - this is a clash of two very distinct tacticians.

Diniz is known to employ a battering, aggressive approach the grinds his adversary down into a shell of their former selves before moving on to capture the finishing blow.  Kaynan has a more subtle form, keen on redirecting and countering the energies of his opponents in whatever form they may come.  Submission victories of Rodolfo Vieira and Craig Jones both come to mind as ways to exemplify his excellent tactical prowess and submission oriented-game.

"Kaynan it's very well rounded I believe the key to win is pushing the pace and try to get my game going first.
I'm super excited for this match" - Matheus Diniz

But despite both being ADCC champs, it’s possible to venture forward with the idea that Diniz one of the best ADCC tactics competing today.  While it’s true he’s only competed at the ADCC world champs one time -when he did he mangled to secure the World title without conceding a single point against him.  A clever wrestling game and keen scrambler, Diniz makes the most out of any slip-ups his opponents offer.

"I think the biggest challenge is going to be getting Matheus on his back, but I have 20 mins to get what I’m looking for. It’s gonna be a good match" - Kaynan Duarte
