Garry Tonon & Gordon Ryan Get Weird In San Francisco

Garry Tonon and Gordon Ryan may be two of the most dangerous submission grapplers in the sport today. They've cultivated a submission skillset through the help of John Danaher and Renzo Gracie NYC that is so unique and effective that they are starting to separate themselves from the pack. 

Together they make up two parts of the Danaher Death Squad and have established themselves through tournaments like EBI, Fight to Win, Polaris and other super fight promotions. Gordon received his blackbelt only six months ago and has already taken out some of the biggest names in the sport. Most recently he fought Atos black belt Keenan Cornelius for 90 minutes before submitting the American prodigy with his patented inside heelhook. 

Garry burst onto the scene back in 2013 with his impressive showing at ADCC 2013. Since then the Tom DeBlass black belt has been one of the most active competitors in the sport of jiu-jitsu. In fact he'll compete again this weekend LIVE on FloGrappling at the Grappling Pro Championships. 

Late July saw Garry compete back to back weekends in two highly publicized super fights. After 'ripping Ralek Gracie's leg off' the weekend before the Danaher clan packed into a rental car and drove from LA to San Francisco for Fight to Win Pro 8. Garry took on the dangerous Team Alpha Male coach Dustin Akbari for the Lightweight NoGi Title. FloGrappling was able to shadow the two submission juggernauts as they perused a local shopping mall, taught a detailed leglock seminar and finally culminated in a spectacular performance at Fight to Win Pro 8.




This weekend is a monster weekend on FloGrappling. As mentioned above Garry Tonon will be returning to Flo when he competes in the 8 man tournament at the Grappling Pro Championships. All submissions are legal and Garry even has an old foe waiting to crash his party. The $10k grand prize should make for some fire works!

Also this weekend, Fight to Win returns with another stacked card featuring brown belt World Champion Horlando Monteiro, former UFC Lightweight Champion Benson Henderson and in the Main event the #1 ranked female competitor Mackenzie Dern will take on the surging upstart, Talita Alencar.
