Nick Rodriguez stormed onto the radar of the jiu-jitsu community at the 2018 East Coast ADCC trials where he turned quite a few heads with his unexpected bronze medal performance.

The Brazilian jiu-jitsu new comber may only have six months of jiu-jitsu under his belt but being from Jersey he has a lifetime of wrestling experience that was on full display at ADCC Trials.

Although a 3rd place finish isn't good enough to punch him a ticket to the ADCC World Championships next year he did win three matches and even earned his blue belt on the podium.

Check out one of his matches from East Coast trials above. When I say he has a tendency to turn heads, watch the match above and you'll see what I'm talking about. The suplex he hit had the whole gymnasium cheering for him! 

He'll have another shot at getting his ticket to ADCC next year for the West Coast trials and with another six months of training at South Jersey BJJ, Nick Rodriguez really could be the next big thing.
