Warmup

Classic jiu-jitsu warm-up: jogging, shrimps, front rolls, ect. You know this, you've done this.

Positional Sparring – Strong / Weak Positional Variations

We saw a fun twist on positional sparring at Ares – athletes were invited to pick any position that they consider a weakness and start from there - be it back escapes, under side control, or stuck in turtle, the goal was to survive the scenario and get back to an attacking position.

after both partners played their weak game, they were allowed to pick a strong position – their 'A' Game.

Sparring

There were seven, 6-minute rounds of sparring.
