The undercard for WNO 19 will have a youthful feel as a pair of teenagers highlight the early matches at Tezos WNO: Meregali vs Duarte. 

And one of those teenagers has a name Brazilian Jiu-jitsu fans know well. 

Achilles Rocha will face JB Bechtloff in a middleweight bout at the Palmer Center in Austin on Aug. 10. While Achilles Rocha is on the undercard, his older sister, black belt Jasmine Rocha, will face WNO Champion Ffion Davies in a flyweight title match. 

Jiu-jitsu success runs in the family as their father Vagner Rocha is a multiple-time ADCC medalist. 

It makes it a family affair for the Rochas in Austin for what should be an exciting night of matches. 

The other main-event event features Nicholas Meregali vs. Kaynan Duarte in a heavyweight bout, while Davies faces Rocha is the co-main event. 

Meregali made quick work of Pedro Marinho in the last WNO event in May, but now faces Duarte, the 2022 ADCC World Champion in the light heavyweight division. Duarte won gold in the super-heavyweight division at the 2023 IBJJF European Championships.

Achilles Rocha Is One Of Two 16-Year-Olds On WNO Card

Achilles Rocha is just 16 and according to the Vagner Martial Arts website, began training when he was just four. 

In that time, Achilles has earned several big accomplishments, including becoming the IBJJF No-Gi Pans and No-Gi Worlds double gold champion at juvenile blue belt. In 2021, he was the Pan Kids gi and no-gi champion. 

Helena Crevar, the No.10-ranked featherweight in the world according to the FloGrappling rankings, is also 16 and will face Healy Dayan on the undercard at WNO 19.

What BJJ Belt Is Achilles Rocha? 

Achilles Rocha is a purple belt. He was promoted from blue belt after winning a no-gi world title in December 2022.

Vagner Rocha Has Set An Example for Achilles

Achilles Rocha's father is Vagner Rocha, a veteran UFC competitor and well-accomplished BJJ grappler. Vagner Rocha, 41, is a three-time ADCC Worlds medalist. He also owns a 14-4 UFC record. 

His daughter, Jasmine, is a black belt and one of the rising stars in jiu-jitsu. She will face WNO champion Ffion Davis on Aug. 10.
