Jessica Caroline Dantas upset one of the top female grapplers in the world Saturday during the 2024 IBJJF European Championship black belt finals in what may be one of the biggest surprises of the week. 

Dantas, the No.2 seed in the light featherweight beat the No.2-ranked Gi pound-for-pound grappler in the world, Mayssa Bastos, in the finals at IBJJF Paris.

Bastos was the heavy favorite to win, but Dantas, the No.5-ranked featherweight pull off the upset.
