The heavyweight title is vacant and up for grabs when Luke Griffith and Felipe Pena face off at WNO 28, in a matchup between the #1 and #2 ranked heavyweight grapplers on Earth. This titanic matchup will be going down live exclusively on FloGrappling, from Costa Mesa, CA on June 13th.

This showdown is a rematch from the dramatic 2024 ADCC World finals which saw Pena score a dramatic come from behind submission win after surviving an early onslaught fom Griffith. Griffith, however, has shown massive improvements and slimmed down to improve his conditioning and figures the rematch will be a different story.

The heavyweight title has been vacated by Gordon Ryan due to his continued struggles with his health and his focus on the evolving Kingsway Jiu-Jitsu team in Austin, TX. This first heavyweight title matchup after his dominant run will be between his prime heavyweight disciple in Luke and his chief rival in Felipe Pena. More than just gold will be on the line in Costa Mesa.
