Atos will be making an appearance at CJI 2, with their wildcard being the top-ranked heavyweight in the world, Felipe Pena.

On the most recent episode of On Borrowed Time with Alex Wendling, Felipe Pena made two big announcements - Atos will field a team for CJI 2 this August and he will be their wildcard at +99kg for the event. 

Atos is one of the best jiu-jitsu academies in the world and after a record-breaking ADCC in 2024, they now turn their attention to this major team-based event.

The Craig Jones Invitational 2 will be a Quintet-style tournament with eight different teams of five men each at the traditional ADCC weights. 

Each team gets one wildcard pick of a grappler who doesn't train at that team or in that region, and for Atos that will be Pena who has trained extensively with the San Diego-based squad.

Felipe Pena will next be in action at WNO 28, when he takes on Luke Griffith for the vacant heavyweight championship belt. That all goes down in Costa Mesa, CA on June 13th!

Atos has to be one of the favorites to win this event, with strong options like Kaynan Duarte, the Ruotolo Brothers, and more that could potentially fill the roster. The team will, of course, be coached by Andre Galvão, one of the greatest jiu-jitsu athletes of all-time.

The matches will be contested under CJI rules in the pit and the tournament will follow Quintet formatting so you could see a lot of cross-weight matchups. The event will also feature a grappling super match between Craig Jones and Olympic champion wrestler Gable Steveson.
