Set for July 26th from Sao Paulo, BJJ Stars 16 promises another memorable show for Jiu-Jitsu fans from the heart of Brazil. The event is headlined by a major no-gi Grand Prix that features multiple black belt World champions - with the winner taking home R$100,000. There will be multiple title matches featuring some of our sport's biggest names and it will all be airing exclusively around the world on FloGrappling.

The open weight Grand Prix is set with eight big names set to battle, and they are;

  • Fabricio Andrey
  • Roberto Cyborg
  • Elioenai Braz
  • Pedro Marinho
  • Devhonte Johnson
  • Josh Saunders
  • Javier Zaruski
  • Haisam Rida

Probably most notable among the list is -66kg athlete Fabricio 'Hokage' Andrey, who has regularly done amazing against larger opponents. Also in the mix are ADCC Champion Roberto Cyborg, IBJJF World No-Gi Absolute Champion Pedro Marinho, and 2024 ADCC top-4 Josh Saunders. Expect fireworks from the start when these eight powerhouses all take the mats looking for the grand prize.

In addition to the GP, BJJ Stars 16 will feature several title fights for the promotion, including a major one between Ana Rodrigues and Julia Alves for the featherweight title. Both of these women have competed and won at the highest levels of the sport and are now set to finally face off in what will be Ana's return match after ACL surgery. The women's middleweight title will also be decided between American rookie black belt Helena Crevar and 2025 IBJJF World Champ Thalyta Silva. Both are riding the most momentum and success of their careers and will be aiming to put on a show and take home the vacant championship.

In another exciting tilt in the lightweight division, Meyram Maquine will take on Leo Souza in a a first time clash between dynamic forces. Souza really broke out at Euros this year where he won gold with all subs and continued that into the World podium this year. He takes on the dangerous Meyram, who brings some of the best judo and speediest movement in all of gi grappling.
