What's Happening In Jiu-Jitsu

-It's official - ADCC is coming to Poland in 2026. The Worlds will be emanating from the TAURON Arena Kraków. All action, including Trials and Opens, will be streamed exclusively on FloGrappling.

-UFC BJJ 2 went down on YouTube, with key wins from Andrew Tackett and Mason Fowler in title bouts. You can get more information and results here.

-PGF Season 8 is rolling through week 2 (regular season is 5 weeks). Standouts this week included Christos Papadelos, Landon Elmore, and Kris Olivo. Get full standings here.

-10x World Champion Bia Mesquita (5-0-0) has signed with the UFC and is expected to make her debut October 11th in Rio.

-Black belt world medalist Roberto Satoshi will defend his RIZIN championship on September 28th against Yoshinori Horie.

-Rodolfo Vieira picked up a decision win against Tresean Gore at UFC Fight Night 108, his first victory on scorecards in MMA. On that same card, Neil Magny was promoted to black belt after his TKO victory.

-Helena Crevar has registered for No-Gi Pans at black belt medium-heavy. I would consider her the current favorite for gold but it's still early.

-The CBJJ (IBJJF's Brazilian chapter) announced they will hold an inaugural Kid's No-Gi Championship later this year on September 20th & 21st. Kid's BJJ continues to grow quickly at the competition level.

-Mica Galvão was engaged to his girlfriend Amit Elor in San Francisco. Amit was a 2024 Olympic Champion in freestyle wrestling.

-IBJJF Open round up:

• Romulo "Bull" Rocha won the Victoria Open at black belt. The Alliance lightweight is still fresh to the black belt level and is a big prospect for the team. InFight's Anderson Kauan would win black belt double gold at the event, he's best known for his footlock.
• Bobby Winther, an exciting MMA fighter and black belt, won double gold at the San Diego No-Gi Open, winning medium-heavy and the open.
• Soldiers purple belt Jose Victor won double gold in the Victoria Open, winning six matches along the way. His teammate Dione Munis (brother of Erich and Anderson) also won gold at medium-heavy.
• Faris Benlamkadem won the New York Open in no-gi. Faris won a 2024 IBJJF World No-Gi Championship after his original opponent tested positive for a PED.

-Sarah Galvão was married this weekend to Steffano Cardoso in a California ceremony.

-Pawel Jaworski, Pouya Rahmani, and Roberto Frias won the Abu Dhabi World Grappling Championships, among other champions from the event. More details here.

What's Coming Up In BJJ

• August 9th: ADCC's biggest open tournament of the year is going down in Las Vegas, the American Nationals. All streaming on FloGrappling.
• August 28-30th: The IBJJF Master Worlds & Jiu-Jitsu Con is back! This is one of the busiest tournaments in jiu-jitsu, with lots of fun stuff for fans to do.
• August 30-31st: CJI 2, featuring 8 star-studded teams competing for a $1,000,000 prize, airs live on YouTube for grappling fans everywhere to enjoy
• September 6th: The ADCC season begins again as the European, Middle East, & African Trials begins. Five men's trials winners will advance to the 2026 World Championships.
• September 20th: Ocean BJJ Pro Championship is happening again at -80kg and +80kg, with champions Tarik Hopstock and Luccas Lira in the mix the defend their titles.
