The top seed in the +99kg division recorded the first submission of the tournament Saturday in Krakow, Poland, defeating Belal Etiabari in opening-round action and delivering one of the first major moments of championship weekend.

Felipe Pena Starts Fast At ADCC Worlds

Pena entered the tournament as one of the favorites in the +99kg division and quickly advanced through his first-round matchup.

The finish marked the first submission recorded at ADCC 2026 as athletes across multiple divisions began their pursuit of ADCC gold.

The victory also moved Pena one step closer to another championship run at one of submission grappling's most prestigious events.
