Gabi Garcia Is Looking For Revenge Against Nathiely At WNO On Feb 26th!

Who's Number One (WNO) returns on February 26th, for WNO: Craig Jones vs Ronaldo Junior! We've already announced the main and co main events, but we have a great one for you to announce now as well. Four-time ADCC champion Gabi Garcia will be looking for revenge against Nathiely de Jesus, who could become the first woman to defeat Gabi in both gi and no-gi competition.

FloGrappling Official No-Gi Rankings

This event will go down yet again in Austin, Texas with no spectators. This match, and all others on the card, will take place under WNO rules and be 15 minutes in length. Just like at previous events, there will be a press conference and weigh ins streamed free on our social media platforms the day before the event, on Thursday, February 25th.

Gabi Garcia

Gabi Garcia is the most dominant woman in grappling history, with four ADCC titles and nine first place finishes at the IBJJF black belt worlds. Gabi has an incredible 70-5 record so far in her career, with a 53% submission rate in those wins.

She comes into this match on a six fight win streak, losing a referee decision to Nathiely in 2019. Gabi does not lose very often, and you know she wants to get revenge on Nathi and prove that she is still the most dominant woman in the game.

Gabi doesn't have much to prove, she has won everything in this sport and has done it repeatedly. All she has left to do is put her legacy as the women's G.O.A.T. in stone, and getting that W back against Nathiely has to happen.

"I'm super excited to fight against Nathiely, she's the new generation, she has good attacks and it's 1-1 between us, now we will go there and see who is number one! She's one of the most humble athletes of this generation and it's a pleasure to fight against her. I hope she does not enter this match expecting a referee decision, which is not her style, this will be a war!"

Beyond The Match: Garcia vs Clay

Nathiely De Jesus

Nathiely de Jesus is one of the most accomplished women of her generation, a five time world champion in the gi and three time no-gi world champion. Nathi is still only 24 years old, and has the potential to become the most successful women's competitor of all-time in her career.

Gabi Garcia currently holds that title though, and this might be Nathiely's last chance to get ahead in the win column over the legendary Gabi. The pair have split a couple of gi matches in their career so far, with Gabi winning at the IBJJF Pans and Nathiely winning at Fight to Win.

While a no-gi world champion, Nathiely is no doubt much more accomplished in the gi and is a big underdog against the four time ADCC champion. You can never count out a black belt world champion though, and if Nathiely becomes the first woman to defeat Gabi in both gi and no-gi competition that is an incredible feat.

"Fighting against Gabi in a No-Gi match will be an incredible experience. We have already fought two times in the gi and it is even, this will be a tiebreaker in a different and challenging way. I can't wait to fight and put into play everything I've been training."
