It's almost time for our first Who's Number One (WNO) event of 2021, the best no-gi competitors in the sport will meet on February 26th in Austin, Texas. As always, this card is stacked from top to bottom, these are the main card matches that have already been announced -

We are having two free prelim matches on this event, streamed free on our site, app, Facebook and Youtube. We've already announced Jessa Khan vs Danielle Kelly as the first prelim. Now for our final match announcement and the opening match for WNO: Craig Jones vs Ronaldo Junior, as two of the top purple belts in the world will meet to settle a grudge when Jacob Couch battles Elder Cruz.

Jacob Couch

"The Hillbilly Hammer" first came to our attention as a regular on the Daisy Fresh series, but he has proven himself to be a very competent competitor as well. A no-gi specialist, Couch recently won double gold at the IBJJF No-Gi Pans, submitting his opponent in the absolute final. Couch then went on to lose a 0-0 referee decision to Elder Cruz at American Nationals, prompting him to challenge his rival to a match on WNO.

Elder Cruz

"El Monstro" has won just about everything at blue and purple belt, including recently winning his weight and the open class at the IBJJF Pans. Born in Honduras and raised in California, Elder was a state placing wrestler in high school before making the transition to jiu-jitsu. This wrestling heavy style can be seen throughout Elder's matches, especially in the relentless pace he maintains from start to finish. Elder knows that Couch is coming for revenge at WNO, but doesn't seem to be too worried -

"El Monstro gotta eat and the first one on the menu will be the Hillbilly Hammer. They think I only beat him because of the IBJJF ruleset, but I'll beat him in any ruleset, I am Daisy Fresh's worst nightmare."
