Two of the most dominant women in the sport are clashing in Round Rock, Texas at the Kalahari Resort. They are ready to give the fans a match they won't forget with a 15-minute submission match and the reward of being called champion.

Here are five things to know about the upcoming bout between Elisabeth Clay and Helena Crevar.

How To Watch WNO 27

1. Elisabeth Clay vs. Helena Crevar Is The Lone Title Match At WNO 27

  • Even though the main card for WNO 27 appears to be the most stacked in the promotion's history, it comes with only one title match.
  • Clay and Crevar are the only title match, and the WNO Featherweight will be on the line.
  • Although their match is not considered the main event, Clay and Crevar are currently slated to be the last match for the main card.

2. This Will Be The Second All-Time Matchup

  • WNO 27 will be chapter two between these two, with the first match taking place during the 2022 ADCC Trials.
  • The current champion, Elisabeth Clay, won the by-submission against Helena Crevar, who was 15 years old.
  • Now that Crevar has three extra years of experience and has vastly improved since then, what better way to assess how far she has come than to go against Clay again in an attempt to return the favor?

3. Elisabeth Clay Has Mastered Lower Body Submissions

  • Over the years, Elisabeth Clay has gathered 58 submission wins during her black belt and pro circuit matches, and 37 of them have come at the expense of targeting the foot and lower body area.
  • The toe hold is solely responsible for 11 submission wins, which is 19 percent of her victories.
  • Clay defeated Crevar with a kneebar in the first match between the two, making it her third time winning off the move.

4. Helena Crevar Doesn't Submit Often

  • Aside from the submission loss to Clay at the ADCC Trials, Crevar has no other losses, even when starting her career early.
  • Until January 2025, Helena Crevar was a minor, but she beat some of the world's top athletes.
  • Her two recorded losses in the last two years have come from points only, showcasing her will to never give up against her opponents and how she learned from his shortcoming against Clay in 2022.

5. Elisabeth Clay Also Knows What It's Like To Dominate The Competition At A Young Age

  • Helena Crevar isn't the only one to enjoy success at a young age. Although Clay is still young, at 24, she was also putting the top grapplers on notice at 16.
  • Clay was the youngest person ever to win first place at the ADCC American Trials in 2017. Fast-forward six years, and she became the WNO champion after submitting Brianna Ste-Marie.
  • 2024 was an excellent year for both women, with Helena becoming the youngest to medal second in the ADCC World Championships at the -65kg division and Elisabeth Clay winning double gold at the No-Gi Pans and IBJFF No-Gi World Championships.
