What's Happening In Jiu-Jitsu
-The brackets for this year's World Championships are out! See everything here. Worlds begins Thursday, black belts begin Saturday, black belt finals on Sunday. See all the brackets here. Everything streams exclusively on FloGrappling.
-WNO announced the rest of the main card for June 13th's Costa Mesa event. Included will be a heavyweight title match for the belt formerly held by Gordon Ryan, to be contested between his prime disciple Luke Griffith and his chief rival Felipe Pena.

- 185lb Championship - Jonnatas Gracie vs Mica Galvão
- Heavyweight Championship - Felipe Pena vs Luke Griffith
- 205lbs - Xande Ribeiro vs Kit Dale
- +155lbs Bout - Paige Ivette vs Kauane Ramos
- 205lbs - Fellipe Andrew vs Declan Moody
- 170lbs - Kyle Chambers vs Victor Silverio
-Felipe Pena will also be at CJI 2, as the +99kg wildcard for Team Atos. Pena was the first to confirm Atos's involvement.
-Several announcements from Craig Jones this week about CJI;
- He confirmed that the arrest video he did with FloGrappling was staged
- Even though he's working with FloGrappling on content, CJI 2 will be separate and still on YouTube
- He also announced that he has repaired the relationship between him and ADCC promoter Mo Jassim
- CJI 3 will be happening next year, and they are going back to brackets like the original
-Mikey Musumeci had to cancel his match with Geo Martinez because of an upcoming project with the UFC. He will be one of the coaches for their upcoming reality show, featuring grapplers at 155lbs and 170lbs.
-The Faradinho Trials set the team for the European Misfits squad. The only spot still not settled is at heavyweight, where trials winner Marcin Maciulewicz will defend that spot against Germany's Frederic Vosgrone. Read more here.
-Renato Canuto won his MMA debut by first round TKO, wailing on the guy from turtle with punches and kicks until the ref intervened.
-Leandro Lo's trial has been delayed once again because of an injunction by the defendant. The trial will now hopefully begin in August.
-UFC Fight Pass Invitational will now use CJI--style rules of rounds and 10-point scoring. You can find the full rules here.
-Fury Pro Grappling 13 crowned three new champions, including Pat Sabatini, Taylor Hishaw, and Junny Ocasio. Read more here.
What's Coming Up In BJJ
- May 29th: IBJJF Worlds begins, with colored belts during the week and Saturday & Sunday dedicated to black belts.
- May 29th: UFC FPI 11 features a really major main event, with top-2 pound-for-pound talents Adele Fornarino and Ffion Davies facing off.
- June 7th: Main Character Jiu-Jitsu 7, going down in Miami. MCJJ is back with another really good card. I love the main event match between Luccas Lira and Achilles Rocha, that one is fireworks.
- June 13th: WNO 28 is coming back to Costa Mesa, one of the most grappling loving areas in the world. The main event will feature Mica Galvão taking on Jonnatas Gracie at 185lbs, and the heavyweight title will be on the line.
