Vagner Rocha is set to take on Kit Dale, a decorated Australian powerhouse that climbed from a white to black belt in four years to become one of the fastest to ever earn a black belt. Despite Rocha being the favorite to win the matchup, Dale surely won't make it an easy feat. 

The two will have their time on the mat here soon, competing in the men's middleweight matchup.

Taught By One Of The Best

For every generational talent that goes through BJJ, there had to be another behind the scenes to teach them everything to know. 

For Kit Dale, that was three-time ADCC World Champion Yuri Simoes.

Simoes won his most recent gold medal at the ADCC World Championship in 2022 in Las Vegas and has over 80 total wins throughout his career.

He has not competed since August of 2024, when he lost to Gordon Ryan at ADCC.

Kit Dale's Accolades

Dale himself has earned gold in world championship competitions. He has won four UAEJJF World Championship titles, is a two-time World Pro BJJ champion, two-time World Pro BJJ silver medalist, and a Brazilian National Champion. 

He is Australia's most decorated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athlete of all time.  

Helping The Next Generation

As Kit Dale has progressed throughout his career, he's turned to teaching the next generation of BJJ athletes. 

Dale has begun an online teaching The Art Of Mastering Jiu Jitsu and Task Based Games. 

Through the program, Dale highlights the importance of mindset over athleticism and the techniques that helped him reach black belt status in just under five years.   

WNO 28 Result

WNO 29 will be Kit Dale's second consecutive Who's Number One appearance. At WNO 28, Dale went up against arguably one of the greatest BJJ athletes of all time in Xande Ribeiro. The match was a fierce match, but in taking on the underdog role, Dale prevailed via referee's decision.

Kit Dale Is Pursuing Acting

Running his own training program isn't the only thing Dale does in his free time. 

Dale lives in Los Angeles, and in recent years, he's also taken up acting, making his first appearance in 2019 in the sci-fi film Iron Sky: The Coming Race. 

Dale has been featured in a combined 10 movies, TV shows, and short films. His most recent role was in Absolute Dominion.

According to his Instagram, Dale is also dipping his toe in directing.
