The IBJJF calendar continues to roll on and this weekend the action will kick off in Phoenix, AZ. World-class athletes will be competing, staying sharp and getting competitive matches against tough opposition. The tournament isn't particularly big, but its proximity to Brazilian jiu-jitsu hotbeds like southern California and Austin, Texas makes it an ideal location for elite athletes to travel for a smaller event.

Every year in early July, Americans come together and celebrate the nation with fireworks. I am, of course, referring to IBJJF American Nationals and the dynamic grappling action it brings, as the tournament continues to gain momentum as one of the best mid-majors of the calendar.

The 2021 IBJJF Worlds finals are set! The absolute divisions and the women’s divisions have been whittled down to a single remaining match to decide this year’s champions; and the male divisions have been narrowed to eight men each.

A few days from now 2021 will be two-thirds complete. The final four months of the year are crammed with both gi and no-gi grappling events and will no doubt bring us countless contenders for the FloGrappling end of year awards. Let's use this time, this brief calm before the storm, to quickly take a look at some of the most notable moments so far.

Fight to Win is back in San Francisco on Friday, August 28 for another night of grappling super fights.
