The 2024 ADCC World Championships is less than a year away, coming to Las Vegas, NV in August 2024.

Gabrieli Pessanha has accomplished a lot of firsts in 2023. The first woman to ever win the open class three times at IBJJF Worlds, and in a row no less. She's the first woman to ever submit her way through both brackets to double gold at Worlds. Now, she has the opportunity to be the first to win the IBJJF's Crown super-heavyweight division, and continue to etch her name into the history books.

With a little over a month until the debut of the prestigious gi event, IBJJF's The Crown, the federation has announced the four competitors who will be competing in the women's super-heavyweight division. All four have won an IBJJF black belt World Championship in the past.

The IBJJF has released the brackets for the 2023 IBJJF World Championship black belt open classes, and we now know the pairings and paths for all the best who want to become absolute champ.

The Stage is set for the final day of the 2022 IBJJF No-Gi World Championships. Each of the male divisions narrowed down to the final eight yesterday, and the finalists were named in each of the female divisions.

The first phase of the black belt rounds at the 2022 IBJJF No-Gi World Championships are underway. Today, the absolute finalists in the male and female divisions will earn their spots, as will the final eight athletes in each of the men's divisions, and the finalists in the women's divisions.

The registrations have closed for the adult black belt open class divisions at the 2022 IBJJF World Jiu-Jitsu No-Gi Championship. Both the male and female divisions should kick off at 9:30 am local time in Anaheim on Saturday.

Fourty-eight of the 96 competitors invited to ADCC this year had never previously competed on the biggest stage in submission wrestling. Those ADCC rookies came in numbers, and took the lionshare of the reward. Of the 24 available medals available across the eight divisions, half went to ADCC debutants, while two more went to ADCC veterans who had not previously won a medal.

The 2022 ADCC World Championships made history at every turn. It was the most well-attended ADCC of all time, during which several records were broken. Kade Ruotolo became the youngest-ever ADCC champ, Gordon Ryan became the first to hold titles in three different weight classes, Ffion Davies became the first Welsh Champion, Brianna Ste-Marie and Dante Leon shared honors as the first Canadian ADCC medalists.

Last week, eight athletes wrote their names into the ADCC history books, becoming champions of the 2022 edition of the tournament and the biggest grappling tournament in history. See the champions, the context, and each of their matches en route to gold below.

What started as 96 athletes has been whittled down to just 14. Each of the ADCC finalists have been named, and seven of them will be declared 2022 ADCC World Champions.

After 68 matches, the first day of ADCC is wrapped up, and the semifinals in each of the seven divisions are set for the start of day two.
