The fourth showdown between Gordon Ryan and Felipe Pena is less than a week away. In the last two weeks, we've caught up with both athletes to check in on their training camps, and to hear their takes on the upcoming bout at Tezos WNO: Ryan vs Pena II presented by Fat Tire.

This weekend 10th Planet Lombard hosted Midwest Finishers’ first women’s 3v3 bracket, where 24 women from every part of the country and Canada faced off for $5,000. This Saturday eight women and eight men squared off for the women’s absolute belt and the men’s 205 lb belt at the 11th edition of Midwest Finishers in Lombard, IL. Out of 14 bracket matches, only three went to overtime, and every match ended in submission. Both the men and women’s matches showcased wrestling, traditional styles of passing and guardwork, along with both opportunistic and manufactured leg locks.

The athletes are weighted in and ready to go! Tonight, four men will square off to become the IBJJF FloGrappling medium heavyweight Grand Prix champion. Four women will take the mat trying to become the first ever female Grand Prix champion. The night also promises three high level superfights including many of the top ranked grapplers in the world.

The IBJJF FloGrappling Grand Prix is coming to Austin, TX on October 28 for a night of elite level grappling. The event will feature two four-person grand prix brackets as well as three premiere superfights.

Despite the high profile of the ADCC World Championships, not all 97 athletes are bound to make it to the premiere event. Athletes get injured, or otherwise sidelined during their preparation, so ADCC organizers need to keep other competitors on reserve. These are the top alternates for each of the seven divisions for the 2022 ADCC World Championships.
