USADA announced today that Felipe Pena, of Minas Gerais, Brazil, an athlete in the sport of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, has accepted a one-year period of ineligibility for his second anti-doping rule violation. Pena’s first violation was announced in 2015.

The black belt class of 2021 is a who's who of top notch competitors, many of whom are likely to grace the top of black belt podiums in the coming months. Below are the athletes who earned the rank of black belt in December.

All year, the 2021 jiu-jitsu season has shown signs that it could bring the changing of the guard, the rise of the next generation. Throughout the year, we’ve seen legacy champions fall to the young up-and-comers; we’ve seen new styles and strategies overthrow the more traditional ones.

The dust has settled after the 25th edition of the IBJJF World Championships, and the furor around a certain well-known black belt's middle finger has died down.

The 2021 World Championships final rounds are set. Today, the IBJJF will crown its first new champions in more than two years at the 25th edition of Worlds.

The 2021 IBJJF Worlds finals are set! The absolute divisions and the women’s divisions have been whittled down to a single remaining match to decide this year’s champions; and the male divisions have been narrowed to eight men each.

After two days of colored belts vying for World titles, the black belts take the stage. Day three of the IBJJF World Championships will kick off with the men's and women's black belt absolute divisions, which will carry on until the finalists in both divisions are decided. Today, we will also find out which eight men will face off in each weight category, and which women will face off in the finals in the black belt weight divisions.

The IBJJF Worlds is back, and the absolute division kicks off Saturday at 9:30 am PT! Nicholas Meregali, Felipe Pena, Fellipe Andrew, Kaynan Duarte and Victor Hugo have all entered the absolute division.

Day one of the IBJJF World Championships was filled with the action, submissions and incredible stories expected of an event of this caliber. Day two is sure to deliver as well, as the male purple and brown belts will take their place on the mats in search of the most coveted title in jiu-jitsu. With hundreds of competitors in search of just a few medals, we're guaranteed  thrilling action throughout the day.

IBJJF Worlds is back for the first time since 2019, with the 2021 IBJJF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship going down from December 9th to 12th. The black belts will be going on the weekend, with male divisions going up to the quarters on Saturday and then doing the final three rounds on Sunday.
