The IBJJF will hold its inaugural premier event, The Crown, on Nov. 19; and the middleweight division is filled with four of the most exciting, active competitors in the world. Tainan Dalpra, Pedro Maia, Andy Murasaki, and Mauricio Oliveira will vie for the Crown and the prize money.

The IBJJF has announced a change to The Crown's middleweight division, with Jackson Nagai having to withdraw from the event. Instead, Brasileiro champion Mauricio Oliveira will step in to replace him in the 4-man invitiation-only bracket. The Crown will be live November 19th from the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California and all of the matches will be streaming exclusively on FloGrappling.

The IBJJF will be holding their inaugural premier tournament 'The Crown' this November, and divisions continue to fill up with invited athletes. The IBJJF is filling these brackets with black belts that have had success in the recent competition calendar, and who have succeeded with an exciting, fan-friendly style. With only six divisions being contested, we know all four competitors in the first men's middleweight bracket, worth $15,000 in prize money to the champion.

BJJ Stars 10: Battlefield is slated to have one of the most seismic and unpredictable open weight brackets in recent history. The event, which takes place on April 22 in São Paulo, Brazil, features a 16-man absolute bracket with $40,000 on the line.

Yuri Simoes relied on his superior guard passing to win the eight-man grand prix at Raw Grappling Championships on Sunday, November 14. Simoes defeated Patrick Gaudio in the final via referee decision after an indecisive 12-minute submission only period followed by a scoreless two-minute overtime.

The show also featured a number of IBJJF World champions in gi superfights, with Matheus Gabriel, Tayane Porfirio and Nicholas Meregali all stepping onto the mat.

The weigh-ins for the BJJ Bet middleweight no-gi tournament took place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with all eight competitors making weight.

Mica Galvao isn’t the first teenager to ever be promoted to black belt, but from what we’ve been able to gather he is one of the youngest ever.
