2019 IBJJF Worlds: Black Belt Absolute Brackets Are Here And They're CRAZY

Women's Division Promise Intrigue & Excitement At 2019 IBJJF Worlds
The women’s divisions at the 2019 IBJJF Worlds are extremely deep, the best we've ever seen them. Four-time champion Rikako Yuasa will have new black belts Mayssa Bastos and Juliane Wiggers to content with. Yuasa doesn’t compete much, just come and wins Worlds every year and wrecks shops. it’s great to see some new opponents for her that will really test her. Light-featherweight has no less than three returning World champions, with Gezary Matuda, Talita Alencar and Amanda Monteiro. Beatriz Mesquita is going for her NINTH world title. Let’s just call her Queen Bia. With Tayane Porfirio out due to a doping suspension and no Gabi Garcia, this could be time for Nathiely de Jesus to reign on top. Silver in the absolute division at Pans to Gabi Garcia too, and silver medals two years in a row in the absolute division at Worlds, with one of those overturned and now a gold (2018). But nobody wants to win a default gold medal after losing in the final – Nathiely will want to go there and win that medal for herself. And don’t forget there’s $10,000 on the line for the absolute winner!
